Its fans regard it as the most competitive conference in the nation, so watch out for the Pac-10's college football teams this year, even giving USC a run for its money.

With college football beginning this week, it’s sure to be an exciting year in the PAC-10 Conference!

Look for the majority of these teams winning bowl game berths this season.

University of Southern California – USC Trojans

Most pre-season polls pick USC as #1 going into the 2007-08 season. With its senior quarterback, John David Booty throwing to some of the top recruits in the nation, many regard USC as unbeatable. Booty will be in the Heisman Trophy runnings, picked by many as the Top Offensive Player of the Year. Watch out for the USC defense, which is top notch this season. USC is predicted by some to run all the way to the National Title, topping the BCS standings.

University of California at Los Angeles – UCLA Bruins

After beating USC during the end of last season, UCLA is ready to be a strong force in the conference. UCLA is also ready to be a presence to the nation, playing Notre Dame at home.

University of California – California Golden Bears

After sharing the PAC-10 title with USC in 2006, the Golden Bears are ready to show they are number one. With most of the offense returning, Cal will be a strong force in the PAC-10. This will be one team ready and able to battle USC, as the game will be in Berkeley.

Oregon State University – OSU Beavers

Returning award-winning kicker Alexis Serna looks to be the all-out Special Teams man, taking on both kicker and punter duties this year. Senior running back Yvenson Bernard will have a record-breaking season on his hands, racking up the yards. With one of the best defenses in the conference, Oregon State will be sure to have an upset on their hands. The Bruins had better be on their guard when traveling to Corvallis this year!

University of Oregon – UO Ducks

With his baseball season in the books, quarterback Dennis Dixon looks to lead the Oregon Ducks in offense. Look out for the running game, as Jonathan Stewart will be an impressive force on offense. The Ducks look to eat up the yards on offense and improve on defending the run this season.

Washington State University – Wazzu Cougars

With one of the best quarterbacks in the conference, the Cougs are looking to the air in order to score this season. Quarterback Alex Brink should have a record-breaking season.

University of Washington – Washington Huskies

With a freshman quarterback, the Huskies will need hard work and a little luck if they hope to stay alive in the PAC-10 this year. All eyes are on Washington’s head coach, Tyrone Willingham this season, as his job depends on the team’s success.

University of Arizona – Arizona Wildcats

Predicted to finish middle of the PAC, Arizona will be depending on its better defense for help in winning games.

Arizona State University – ASU Sun Devils

With new head coach, Dennis Erickson, former San Francisco 49ers head coach, ASU is looking to win on the road, as Cal and USC will be visiting the Sun Devils in Tempe this year.

Stanford University – Stanford Cardinal

Poor Stanford has held last place in the PAC-10 for the second year in a row. The Cardinal look to another building year, with a new head coach ready to meet the challenge.
